About Me

Hi there.  I'm a bit of a gypsy wanderer, an avid outdoors-woman, and a happy camper.  I travel often - sometimes with my husband, sometimes with my dog, and often with like-minded women.

I am a member of several women-centric adventure groups.  I am actively involved with the Girl Camper organization.  I am a member of their executive team and am a camping guide in charge of Iowa.  We host camping events for women all over Iowa.

I write for the Girl Camper website, for Girl Camper Magazine, GoRVing, Camco Manufacturing - and I often share my musings from the road here on my own blog.  I don't currently have a schedule - I just post when the mood strikes.

I am also actively involved with a coed camping club - Tearjerkers, a fun group of people who like camping small.  Tearjerkers started out as a group of folks who were interested in teardrop campers - and it has bloomed into this amazing community that welcomes anyone to join in the fun.  I am Director of the Hawkeye Chapter - helping to organize group camping events throughout Iowa.

As a visitor here, you are part of a fantastic community.  I have been camping for more than 50 years.  I love to meet new people and absolutely adore helping others get out there and experience this beautiful world.  Your comments keep me going and I freely give advice on Iowa attractions, good camping spots, gear I have used and loved (or not loved.)
